I applied online using the CommonAppDec 07 2010Psychology
I applied online using the CommonApp. I also came to few open houses and I suggest that if you can you should also do that to get a better feel of the campus.
If you want to get it, just get decent scores on your SATs. I think that in-state students are favored, so if you're out-of-state maybe take some SAT Subject tests as well and maybe some AP classes.
SAT: 1670 Female
Middle of the roadMay 20 2010Business - Management and Administration
Middle of the road SAT scores, top 10% of HS class, the normal recommendations, and some AP coursework. I don't know if any of that mattered. I got in everywhere that wasn't too much of a reach. This was really inexpensive and my dad went here. The any program at the business school requires Precalc, Calc I, Stats I & II along with the normal run of Econ 1 & 2, Accounting 1 & 2, and Finance courses. Be comfortable with math.
SAT: 1430 Male
Since Umass amherst is so much more competitive nowDec 22 2009PreMed and Medical
Since Umass amherst is so much more competitive now it has gotten much harder to get in, even as a state school. I recommend getting SAT scores over 600 and at least being in the top 30% of your class to stand a good chance of being accepted.
SAT: 2250 Male
I am not sure as to how I gotOct 29 2009Mechanical Engineering
I am not sure as to how I got in, my advice is take the SAT's multiple times, have a good GPA, write a solid essay (I think mine helped a lot), and work hard.
SAT: 600 Male
UMass Amherst is receiving a record amount of applicationsDec 27 2008Journalism
UMass Amherst is receiving a record amount of applications because of their low cost and reputation as a college that provides a great education.

I can't say I really know what to do to get accepted into this school. Grades and SAT scores are probably most important, but then again I'm not sure.
SAT: 1950 Female
